How to Request a Replacement Conveyor Chain: What Data to Send Us

Replacement conveyor chains are usually made to order. You do not need to be a chain specialist to ask for one: send us what you have — a drawing, an old sample or photos — and we pass your data to the manufacturer, who checks it and confirms the correct chain. We then send you a quote with price, lead time and country of origin.

VBN Vertriebs GmbH supplies original AUFT conveyor chains, roller chains, special chains and sprockets from Offenburg, Germany to industrial customers worldwide. AUFT builds chains to customer specification, including attachments, carriers and special plates.

What to send us

A drawing of the chain, if you have one (PDF, DWG or a photo of a printed drawing)
Photos of the chain from the side and from above, with a ruler or caliper in the picture
Nameplate or part number of the conveyor or machine, if available
Pitch and main dimensions, if you can measure them — a good photo is enough for a first inquiry
Attachments, carriers or flights: a photo or drawing and the links on which they sit
Material and operating conditions: wet, dusty, abrasive, food contact, temperature
Length or number of links, and the quantity you need
Your application, for example sawmill conveyor, palm oil mill or packaging line
If you also need sprockets: tooth count, bore and condition
Destination country

If you only have a worn sample

A chain that has been in service for a long time is slightly longer than a new one because of wear. Please mention this, together with how long the chain was in use, so that the data can be checked accordingly.

What happens next

You send your data by email or through our request form.
We check it for completeness and forward it to the manufacturer. If something is missing, we ask you.
We send you a quote with price, lead time and country of origin.
After your order we ship original chains and sprockets from Germany by air or sea freight.

Production time for custom chains and transport time depend on the specification and the destination, so we confirm both with the quote. See also our pages on bushed chains, roller chains and wear, the complete conveyor package and our industry pages for woodworking, packaging and mining.

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to know the exact chain type?

No. Send a drawing, a sample description or photos, and the manufacturer checks the details.

Can I send only photos?

Yes, for a first inquiry. Photos from the side and from above with a ruler in the picture are helpful. A drawing speeds things up.

Do you also supply sprockets?

Yes. Sprockets and drive components are part of the AUFT range. Please send the tooth count, bore and hub data or a drawing.

For belts, drives, sensors and safety devices for the whole line, see our overview of conveyor belt components and spare parts from Germany.
